---|---|
STRONG SWIMMERS: Akvegans have special glands in their neck that allows them to breathe underwater. Their webbed hands and feet enhance swim speed and agility, giving them an advantage in navigating currents and tight underwater spaces.
COLD TOLERANCE: Akvegans are naturally resistant to cold environments. This adaptation allows them to operate in lower temperatures with reduced risk of fatigue or damage, particularly valuable in the colder depths of the ocean. In space, this cold resistance also provides a level of endurance in extreme temperatures, beneficial in prolonged extravehicular activities or emergency situations in low-temperature environments.
DARKVISION: Akvegans have superior vision in low-light conditions, enabling them to see clearly underwater or in dimly lit environments.
PRESSURE RESILIENCE: Akvegans can withstand high pressure in deep underwater environments, allowing them to operate effectively in depths that would be inaccessible to most species without specialized equipment. This trait also makes them more resistant to certain pressure fluctuations in space, which can be advantageous in specific high-pressure environments, such as spacecraft with temporary structural failures or emergency decompression events.
Grasondians are adapted to the expansive, dry plains of their home planet. With skin tones in tan, brown, and green to blend into their grassy environment, Grasondians are natural survivalists, known for their resilience and endurance in open terrain.
Grasondians possess strong teamwork instincts and can endure long physical exertion, making them exceptional for group-oriented roles in exploration, agriculture, and security. With a natural affinity for blending into their surroundings, Grasondians thrive in outdoor environments where patience, endurance, and coordination are essential.
Common backgrounds for Grasondians include skilled roles such as Tracker, Herbalist, Ranger, and Beast Handler, reflecting their strong ties to the land and natural world.
HIGH STAMINA: Grasondians are physically adapted for endurance, allowing them to move long distances across vast plains without fatigue. They can travel farther and for longer durations with reduced energy needs compared to other species.
KEEN SENSES: Grasondians possess heightened senses that make them exceptionally aware of subtle changes in their surroundings, allowing them to detect hidden predators, shifts in wind direction, and faint sounds of movement nearby. This attunement provides them with an advantage on perception and survival checks related to spotting hidden creatures or detecting environmental changes in grasslands.
ANIMAL KINSHIP: Grasondians have an innate ability to understand and connect with animals, particularly those adapted to the grassland environment. This skill grants them an advantage on animal handling checks. They are also able to calm or tame wild creatures more easily, making them excellent herders and animal trainers.
PATHFINDERS: Grasondians possess an innate sense of direction and an exceptional ability to track and navigate across natural terrains. This instinctive orientation grants them advantage on survival checks related to tracking prey and finding their way through grasslands, forests, and plains. Additionally, they are less likely to get lost and can identify subtle signs of movement or passage, making them skilled trackers and guides in the wild.
Sekejoans are adapted to the mineral-rich, dry environments of their home planet, Sekejo. Known for their silvery skin and narrow eyes, Sekejoans are well-suited to intense sunlight and resource-scarce areas. They thrive in high-sunlight conditions and have evolved a unique sensitivity to minerals, which aids them in identifying and extracting resourcesβa skill highly valued in mining and crafting professions.
Sekejoans are hardy, with natural adaptations for low-oxygen and low-gravity environments, making them valuable not only on their arid home world but also in space where similar environmental challenges often arise.
Common backgrounds for Sekejoans include Miner, Geologist, Thermal Engineer, and Salt Harvester, showcasing their expertise in resource extraction and adaptation to the unique geological features of their arid homeworld.
Akvegans are adapted to the aquatic environment of their home planet. Some of these adaptations also provide them an advantage in space.
RADIATION RESISTANT: Sekejoansβ silvery skin naturally reflects sunlight, offering resistance to environmental heat and sun damage, which reduces fatigue and heat-related effects in high-sunlight areas. This trait proves useful in space for extended exposure to solar radiation, where Sekejoans experience reduced strain compared to others.
MINERAL SENSE: Sekejoans possess a heightened sensitivity to minerals, allowing them to detect valuable resources even through layers of rock and soil. This skill gives them an advantage in prospecting, mining, and resource extraction, both on-planet and in space, where raw resources on asteroids or moons are critical.
LOW OXYGEN EFFICIENCY: Adapted to their planetβs thin atmosphere, Sekejoans can function well in low-oxygen environments. This allows them to work in high-altitude or thin-atmosphere areas without supplemental oxygen and provides a survival advantage in space environments, where oxygen resources are carefully rationed, or in emergencies with compromised oxygen levels.
LOW G TOLERANCE: Sekejoans have a natural resistance to space sickness due to an enhanced sense of spatial orientation and balance. This trait reduces disorientation and nausea in low-gravity environments, making Sekejoans particularly adept at adjusting to the demands of extended time in space.
Tropikarans are a species adapted to the hot, humid jungles and river systems of their home planet, Tropikaro. With a slight reptilian appearance, they are uniquely suited to life in dense tropical environments. Tropikarans possess moisture-retaining skin and heightened reflexes, making them exceptionally resilient in warm, wet conditions. Their physiology provides them with advantages in dense, complex terrain, where they excel at navigating rivers, jungles, and marshlands. Known for their adaptability and swift reactions, Tropikarans often take up roles such as river guides, biologists, and survivalists, using their innate skills to thrive in varied environments.
Common backgrounds for Tropikarans include Jungle Scout, Botanist, Biologists, Hunters, and Healers, emphasizing their deep connection to the vibrant ecosystems and complex flora and fauna of their tropical world.
CHAMELEON SKIN: Tropikarans can subtly shift their skin tones to blend with the vibrant, varied colors of the tropical jungle, granting them a natural camouflage that provides advantage on stealth checks when in forested or jungle environments.
STRONG CLIMBERS: With strong, flexible limbs and claw-like nails, Tropikarans are adept at climbing trees and other vertical surfaces. This adaptation grants them a bonus to climbing speed and an advantage on checks to navigate difficult or uneven terrain in forested areas.
ENHANCED SMELL: Tropikarans possess a highly developed sense of smell, allowing them to track scents over long distances. This ability provides them with an advantage on perception and survival checks related to tracking, detecting, or identifying creatures and plants by scent.
VENOM/POISON RESISTANCE: Due to exposure to toxic flora and fauna, Tropikarans have developed a natural resistance to venoms and toxins commonly found in their environment, reducing damage or duration of negative effects from poisonous plants, insects, and animals.
Synthetic humans are grown in development pods from synthesized embryos created from human stem cells. Gene therapies can be introduced at key developmental stages to alter the development of the eventual lifeform.
By default, all Synthetic Humanoids receive gene therapy to mitigate genetic diseases, and proteogenomic therapy to provide cellular resilience to conditions that can damage DNA such as radiation, extreme heat or cold, and dehydration.
Choices related to physical traits like weight, height, skin and hair color can be chosen by the player. In addition, the player can choose 4 enhancements such as cybernetic augmentations or bioengineered mutations.
