Setup
Establishes the core infrastructure and governance needed for a colony’s initial survival and growth.
When the first Argos expedition ship identifies a planet fit for colonization, its onboard AI initiates the intricate process of selecting and mapping an optimal landing site, often based on resources, climate, and geographic accessibility. The expedition begins with the deployment of Atlas dropships, which carry modular equipment and materials designed for rapid setup. These initial structures include life-support systems, energy generators, and modular shelters that interconnect to form the first outpost on the planet.
After establishing basic shelter and utilities, the colony’s infrastructure is expanded with essential facilities such as water purification, oxygen generators, food production modules (often relying on vertical farms and lab-grown foods), and waste recycling systems. These facilities are all built with scalability in mind, allowing the outpost to expand as more colonists arrive.
Next, the colony’s governance and social structure are introduced, based on the New World Order's core values. This includes the appointment of an initial council, representing both corporate and civilian interests, who oversee local governance and infrastructure development. The first trade guilds, such as those for construction, healthcare, and environmental management, begin forming here, providing expertise and oversight to ensure stability and security for early colonists.
While the physical and governance frameworks are put in place, the AI also initiates a self-sustaining ecosystem that includes controlled environments for native and bioengineered flora and fauna. These ecosystems are designed to be robust yet manageable, balancing the new world’s native biosphere with Earth-based life to support long-term sustainability.
As the final stage of Setup, training facilities are established for new settlers, who are taught essential skills for their roles in the colony. By the end of Setup, the colony has achieved functional independence, with its infrastructure, governance, and basic social services all working in tandem to support a small yet resilient population, poised to grow and expand.
