Introduction
Stela Mondo is a science fiction setting for tabletop roleplaying that explores a potential future where humanity has colonized distant star systems.
PRE-RELEASE CONTENT
The game setting is pre-release and still undergoing playtesting. The contents of this site are a living document and may change without notice.
Stela Mondo was conceived as a future in which human evolution is predominantly shaped by scientific and technological advancements, even as our capacity for individual and societal adaptation via our institutions lags behind.
While not written as a "hard" science fiction setting, effort was put into making the setting a realistic projection of scientific research and technologies already under development today. The premise for the setting is to advance the timeline of our science and technology and explore a potential future where humanity has unlocked the ability to colonize distant star systems.
Stela Mondo, translated from Esperanto means “Star World”. Science fiction is speculative fiction; it imagines a world that is different from our own by asking “What if...?”.
What if we had technology that allowed us to travel to distant solar systems?
What if we could genetically engineer human biology to adapt to living on planets with a different ecosphere than Earth?
What if we could design a new and better political, economic and social order to guide our new future based on lessons learned from our past?
What if we found a useful application for Esperanto?

Content Organization
The site is divided into several sections.
ABOUT: This section provides a global perspective for the overall setting including a timeline of important historical events, key science and technological breakthroughs, and the new world order that outlines the political, economic and social structure of the game world.
WORLDS: The location of the setting encompasses a region of space called the Hyades cluster and spans multiple star systems nearby within its dense core. This section describes each planetary colony and provides some adventure hooks specific to each world.
TOOLKIT: The toolkit provides tools and guidance to assist players and game masters when running a campaign within the setting including compendiums of equipment like vehicles and spacecraft, personal gear, and companions, as well as some sample features and random tables.
